Jerry Remkes got his MA in Arts and Arts Administration at the University of Groningen. After his graduation he was a cultural policy manager for the city governnments of Eindhoven and Amersfoort and the managing director for theater company Het Oranjehotel.

Jerry Remkes works for anoukvandijk dc since 2001, first exclusively as managing director and from 2003 also as dramaturg for Anouk van Dijk's performances. Besides his work for anoukvandijk dc, he was also international project manager in 2008-2009 for the Netherlands Theatre Institute. Since 2009 he is part of the curatorial board of festival the Dutch Dance Days, advisor to the Performing Arts Fund and board member of Kunsten '92.
